What I have seen in terms of personal computer memory is that there are specs such as SDRAM, DDR etc, that must fit in with the requirements of the motherboard. If the personal computer's motherboard is fairly current while there are no os issues, updating the memory literally will take under a couple of hours. It's one of the easiest computer system upgrade processes one can visualize. Thanks for revealing your ideas.
